The Prophet (bürgerlich Dov J. Elkabas; geboren am 5. November 1968[1]) ist ein niederländischer Hardstyle-DJ und -Produzent und gründer des Hardstyle-Labels Scantraxx.
Biografie[]
Nach dem Besuch in der Diskothek "Het Nijlpaardenhuis" im Jahr 1983 kaufte sich Dov Elkabas seine ersten eigenen Turntables und begann zu experimentieren. Anfangs legte er unter dem Alias Akhnaton auf verschiedenen Events auf.[2]
Er begann im Jahr 1991 Musik zu produzieren. Er war einer der ersten niederländischen Hardcore-DJs und -Produzenten. Seine erste Veröffentlichung war die Thunderdome 4 EP im Jahr 1993.[3][4]
Gemeinsam mit DJ Buzz Fuzz, DJ Dano und DJ Gizmo bildete er zudem das Hardcore-Projekt The Dreamteam[5], mit dem sie im Jahr 1992 ihr eigenes Label Dreamteam Productions gründeten.[6]
Im Jahr 1997 gründete er The Masochist, ein Hardcore-DJ und-Produzenten-Projekt und Live-Act, in dem er bis 2001 regelmäßig mitwirkte.[7]
Nach einer kurzen Pause begann er 2002 Hardstyle zu Produzieren und gründete im selben Jahr sein eigenes Label Scantraxx Recordz.[8]
Viele bekannte Hardstyle-Artisten hatten ihre Anfänge auf Dovs Label Scantraxx, unter anderem A-Lusion, Brennan Heart, Headhunterz, Wildstylez und Frontliner.
Gemeinsam mit dem Dreamteam-Mitglied Ferry Salee (DJ Gizmo) produzierte Dov Elkabas unter dem Synonym Taq 9 die erste Scantraxx-Veröffentlichung mit dem Titel "Slavez", die im April 2002 erschien.[9] Unter dem Alias Dopeman produzierte Dov auch die Single "Hardbazz Powah!".[10] Gemeinsam mit DJ Pavo bildete er auch das Duo Hardheadz.[11] Für den "Scantraxx Allstarz Volume 1"-Sampler im Jahr 2005 produzierte er gemeinsam mit DJ Zany als Punk Brozz.[12]
Im Jahr 2007 produzierte Dov gemeinsam mit JDX das Sensation Black-Anthem, wofür das einmalige Alias Black Identity verwendet wurde.[13]
Am 4. April 2014 veröffentlichte er sein erstes Soloalbum mit dem Titel "Louder".[14]
Seit 2015 produziert er auch gemeinsam mit einem noch unbekanntem Produzenten Raw Hardstyle unter dem Alias Hard Attakk.[15]
